ICAR-National Research Centre for Banana

As part of the “Parthenium Awareness Week” organized by ICAR-Directorate of Weed Science Research, Jabalpur, ICAR- National Research Centre Banana, Tiruchirappalli organized "Parthenium Awareness Program in the Research Farm premises on August 19, 2026. The programme were attended by the heads of sections, scientist of crop production section, and farm labourers of this institute and farmers of near by village. The Director of ICAR-NRCB presided over the awareness program and engaged with the farmers and staff of the institute. Throughout the program participants were emphasized the significance of eradicating Parthenium from crop fields and vacant areas. All participants were actively involved and demonstrated interest in the eradicating Parthenium. Followed by a field visit was organized to demonstrate the level of parthenium infestation in fallow and banana field.
