Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU)

The ITMU at ICAR-NRCB started in the Year - 2008, through XI plan scheme “Intellectual property management and transfer/commercialization of agricultural technology Scheme" funded by ICAR. Further, during XII plan scheme, funding support was enhanced through 'National Agricultural Innovation Fund' (Component-I), with a focus on to strengthen the institutional mechanism to protect/manage innovations/intellectual properties (IPs) generated within respective institute.

Activities

Protecting/managing innovations/intellectual properties (IPs) generated within ICAR - NRCB.
Scrutinizing and processing of patent/IP proposal from institute for filling patents.
Facilitating commercialization/transfer of technologies.
Establishing linkages through MOUs and public-private partnership projects.
Management of Intellectual Properties (IPs) through Institute Technology Management Committee (ITMC) following ICAR policy guidelines.

Technology Transfer and MoU

Transfer of ICAR-NRCB technology to industry and entrepreneurs.
MoU with leading research organizations, ICAR - Institutes / SAU’s / State Governments / Start Ups / Industry.

Intellectual Property and Management

Intellectual protection of ICAR - NRCB technologies and farmers lead innovations in banana production and processing.
Trade mark registration for improved visibility of banana and related products.

Incubation Services

Infrastructure and technical support for incubatees.
Linkages for technology up scaling, mentoring support for branding and marketing of banana products.
