Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026 (17th September to 2nd October, 2026)

As part of the Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026, being observed from 17th September to 2nd October 2026 under the theme “Swachhta Mein Sahbhag – Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat,” the campaign concluded on 2nd October 2026 with the celebration of Swachh Bharat Diwas at ICAR–NRCB.

All staff members of ICAR–NRCB participated in the celebration, which was graced by the Chief Guest, the Dean of Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute, Tiruchirappalli. In his address, he emphasized the importance of inculcating cleanliness habits among children, particularly school students, from an early age. He highlighted the need to encourage the younger generation to develop a responsible mindset towards cleanliness and contribute towards the vision of a clean and developed India by 2047.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. R. Selvarajan, Director, ICAR–NRCB, Tiruchirappalli. In his address, he highlighted the importance of collective participation and sustained efforts in maintaining cleanliness within the institute and its surrounding areas. He emphasized that the principles promoted during the campaign, particularly Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3R), should be incorporated into everyday practices rather than being limited to the campaign period.

As part of the programme, awards were presented to the winners and outstanding performers in various competitions conducted during the campaign to create awareness about cleanliness and responsible waste management at home and in the workplace. The programme concluded with a strong emphasis that the spirit of Swachhta should not be limited to the 15-day campaign, but should become a continuous and lifelong practice. The Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs) identified during the campaign will continue to receive regular attention and cleaning, ensuring that the efforts initiated during the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign are sustained beyond the campaign period.
