Current Institute Projects:
Survey, etiology and management of rhizome rot of banana (PI).
Management of post harvest diseases of banana (PI)
DBT-TWAS project (Eco-friendly management of post-harvest diseases and enhancing shelf life of banana through yeast based bioformulation and its green chemistry derivatives for ensuring extended availability of the quality fruits to consumers)
Integrated disease management for Fusarium wilt of banana (Co.PI)
Organic banana farming for sustainable soil health and nutritional security (Co. PI).
Biointensive management of major insect pests of banana (Co.PI)
Molecular approaches to understand the host-virus-vector-environment interactions and the management of banana viruses (Co. PI).
Eco-friendly management of banana pseudostem weevil and banana scarring beetle (Co.PI)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered decision support system development for leaf spot disease management in banana (lead PI).
Current External Projects:

Developed the effective bioformulation(s) for management of rhizome rot disease and yield enhancement in banana
Characterized rhizome rot pathogens infecting banana
Developed a customized model for quick bioassay for rhizome rot disease of banana.
Associated in characterization and management of Fusarium wilt of banana.
Associated in identification resistant sources in banana germplasm accessions resistant to major diseases and pests.
Characterized the potential microbes for major insect pests of banana.
Associated in development of package for organic based banana cultivation
Identified novel germplasm lines resistance to anthracnose disease of chilli, and rust, powdery mildew and downy mildew diseases of pea.
Developed Trichoderma sp., and Bacillus subtilis based bio-formulations for the management of soil borne fungal pathogens infecting vegetables.
Characterized early blight pathogen infecting tomato in Northern India.
Registered two genetic stocks of garden pea resistant to multiple diseases.
Worked out bio-efficacy and safety limit of combined fungicides applied against anthracnose disease of chilli and early blight disease of tomato.
Standardized a protocol for regeneration of soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill) through direct somatic embryogenesis from the immature embryonic shoot tip.
Developed pyramided transgenic elite Indica rice cultivars resistance to sheath blight and bacterial blight diseases.
A software intended to guide the stakeholders about the cashew diseases was developed and obtained copyright (No SW-15907/2022)
Dr. K. Ramakrishnan award and Dr. A. N. Puri Prize for the best student in Ph. D study (2002), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India.
Visiting Scientist (2014), AVRDC, The World Vegetable Center, Taiwan.
Selected for NAIP international training fellowship 2013-14.
Selected as DARE, GOI, nominee for attending ASEAN-India training on “Organic certification of Fruits and Vegetables” held during 20 Oct. 2013-2 Nov.2013 at Malaysia.
Post Doc. (2005-2008), National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan.
Awarded with best poster presentation award in three occasions (2002; 2014; 2015) at National level Seminars/Symposiums.and one time (2020) in International conference.
